Welcome to Reel'em In Guide Service in Ellijay, Georgia -"A North Georgia Fly Fishing Outfitter".  We are Ellijay's first fly fishing guide service and outfitter, est. 2001.  Our service is insured and a United States Forest Service permittee on the Chattahoochee National Forest.  We are not a seasonal fly fishing guide service, but rather a professional service that operates 7 days a week and 52 weeks per year.  While others may try to locate fish for you, why not join us and Reel'em In!

Our guide service specializes in small stream tactics for wild trout.  For those who enjoy fly fishing for trophy trout, we offer fishing trips to Mountaintown Creek for the chance to tangle with some "hawgs". We guide fly fishing trips throughout the beautiful North Georgia Mountains reeling in rainbows, browns, and "our" native char - the brook trout.

Join us for your next guided fly fishing adventure and experience true "Southern Hospitality".  Witness the spectacular scenery of the North Georgia Appalachian Mountains and fly fishing in some of the most attractive waters in Georgia.

Whether fly fishing for trout in a mountain stream or river, you'll love the seclusion and peacefulness you get while being out in nature's beauty.  Just imagine yourself passing by towering Hemlock trees, the smell of the woods, and the sounds of a rushing stream as it cascades by.  And in all this beauty, just imagine yourself as you land a trout on a fly rod!

North Georgia has much to offer fly fishing enthusiasts with the Chattahoochee National Forest.  The latest research shows over 4,000 miles of water that supports trout and 1,500 miles of this supports natural reproduction.

There are several streams in this area to choose from and we have two Delayed Harvest streams.  Many streams are open year-round and some are only minutes away.

Fishing Report:  As of January, water temps are ranging in the low to mid 40's.  Fly Fishing has slowed somewhat but we are still catching'em.  We are still having alot of rain which is or may cause the larger streams to be unfishable.  Smaller streams should still be fishable.  Trout have been rising to BWO's, black and brown caddis during the warmest part of the day while a sporadic hatch is going on.  Nymphs like the Prince, PT's, and HE's are doing well.  Our dry fly season is really over, but midday can still produce some top water action.  Tie these nymphs as a dropper off the dry fly to get the chance for some top water action while using the dry also as an indicator.

Mountaintown Creek:  Maybe the closest fly fishing trophy stream to Atlanta and only minutes from beautiful Ellijay.  Our section is now in the third year of being trophy managed.  This is where some of our clients come to test their wits against some of the biggest hardest fighting Georgia trout around.  We do not guarantee that every hook up will be landed.  Some of these trout now run up over 28 inches and over 8 pounds.  This is the place to hear screaming reels and watch flying fish!  We offer guided half and full day fly fishing trips.  See "Rates" page for more information.
